Michaela and I installed a water tank.

Pretty good looking tank but isn't 3000L just a little bit small for a household.
Maybe you also have town water supply.
Hopefully you get enough rain to fill it up. Watch out for mosquitos and floating dead rats!
We have tank water only and have 2 x 20000L tanks.
Yes we get heaps of rain.
Our tyanks are overflowing at least once a week. We are looking forward to summer when things may dry out a bit. |

We have also installed another 2,500L tank out the back.
But they are both set aside for outside watering only.
We have town water where we live.
But we are not allowed to use it for gardening or washing cars or filling pools and spas.
Since I like to keep our 3 cars nice and clean, and Michaela likes to keep the garden nice, we installed the first tank.
And then we bought a new spa - so to fill that one we bought the other tank.
Last weekend they all got well used as we refreshed the water in the spa, and washed 4 cars.
We love our tanks and are very proud of them.
My friends even come around to wash their cars.
So with our tanks and our new spa we have become very popular in the neighbourhood.
But your 2 x 20,000 sounds pretty good. Now I am jealous!
However, even if we did have 40,000L storage capacity, we'd be lucky to get anywhere near filling them. If yours are overflowing then you must be getting an incredible amount of rain. (Either that, or you are not washing your cars often enough).

Justin.
I have an abused 4x4 that only gets washed when it rains or I'm driving in some reasonably deep water.
I use mine to push trees of the road and to drive over and through things.
I got a new scratch in it the other week and Jodie was a little disapointed.
It's about 1 inch deep, 1 inch wide and six foot long.
Oh well it goes with the others.
Jodie likes to wash her vehicle as she cares about it.
And yes it rains a lot here. Where we live is officially classified as rainforest (but not a wussy warm one like they have in Australia). |
